get to know me.

I didn’t exactly grow up knowing I was going to design wedding stationery. For a long time, I was working a pretty standard 9–5 in corporate America, and while I was good at it, it slowly drained the creative part of me. Eventually, I realized I wanted to make things again. I wanted to do work that felt a little more like me.

Looking back, I probably should have known this was coming. Flashback to 2007, I was spending an unreasonable amount of time customizing my MySpace page, picking fonts, rearranging things, and making sure everything was just right. I didn’t know it at the time, but apparently I’ve been very opinionated about fonts and alignment for almost 20 years.

I’m an introverted extrovert, deeply sentimental, and probably more attached to paper than the average person. I’ve kept every card I’ve received for as long as I can remember. I love beautiful things, I love the little details, and I really love love. Being able to bring all of that together through Written West feels like a pretty perfect fit.

My son, Callum, is my biggest why and the reason behind everything I do. One of the best parts of building Written West is getting to be my own boss and actually watch him grow up. I’m building something I love, but more importantly, I’m building a life that gives me the freedom to be present for the people I love most.

When I’m not designing, I’m probably exploring somewhere in the mountains, trying a new coffee shop, playing board games with friends and family, or planning our next family vacation.

And then there’s Kaya, my dog and my only co-worker. Her official title is Director of Workplace Distractions. She has never answered an email, contributed to a design, or met a deadline, but she is very committed to the role.
